Established in 1987, Italy’s dot IT country-specific domain extension is quite popular both locally and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for building inventive and attractive domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to construct an easy-to-memorize domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to return to your website or to give it with associates and acquaintances. The TLD can also be used for a website, which is connected to the technology sector taking into consideration that IT is an abbreviation, which is well-known all over the globe.

Having in mind the fact that dot IT domains are not provided directly by IT-NIC, the Registry that controls this top-level extension, such a domain can be booked through a 3rd-party service provider, such as ours. You can book a .IT domain for no more than one year at a time, and the domains are transferable, so you can move your existing domain over to our company and we will renew it when the transfer has been done. The only stipulation is that the person obtaining such a domain is required to be located in a country from the European Union.

As there are existing 2nd-level Domains that include names of different regions and localities in Italy reserved for local third-level registrations, new names that include geographical regions of any kind are not allowed on any level to avoid any future confusion. We do not offer such 3rd-level domains, though, considering the fact that they can be registered only by locals.
